The South East Rural Towns Partnership has been in existence since 2000, building on experience gained from managing Rural Towns: Rural Life, an SRB programme providing grants to towns and developing a network of support for town partnerships. Activities include:
The partnership includes representatives from each county / unitary authority, together with other agencies who have committed themselves to working positively with local communities and partnerships to deliver improved services and quality of life in rural towns across the region. The Chair of this Partnership is Sue Beer Tel 01622 221936 Sue Beer is the County Co-ordinator fo the Kent Rural Towns programme. She has worked in rural regeneration for some years, having previously worked on the Mid Kent LEADER+ programme. Before that she was a community development officer at Kent 's rural community council. She lives in a small market town on the coast and is a volunteer member of the local neighbouhood partnership so has experience of small town regeneration from local to strategic level.
